Light Indication |
Probable Causes |
Solution |
| Power and Resume Blinking | Carriage carriage motion problem | Clear any obstruction blocking the carriage path such as a paper jam. Turn the printer Off. Cancel the print job at the computer and switch the printer back On. |
| Power On and Print Cartridge Blinking | Print cartridge is faulty or unavailable | Make sure the appropriate print cartridges have been installed and the access door is closed. |
| Power On, Resume Blinking | Form feed needed | If this occurs during a paper load (and wings are restored to the normal "tucked away" position), a mispick has most likely occurred. Pushing the Resume button will cause the printer to try to pick paper again. |
| Paper jam | In the form-feed needed state, there will be a page loaded in the printer. Pressing the Resume button here will cause the printer to eject the page. (Occurs with DOS redirector only) | |
| Paper mispick (out of paper). | A paper jam occurs if there is a problem with moving paper. This can occur during loading, printing or ejecting paper. Pushing the Resume button in this state will cause the printer to power-cycle. Any partially processed print job will have to be resent. | |
| Printer waiting to drop a page (drop delay). | If this state occurs at the end of a banner job and banner paper is still loaded in the printer, the printer is waiting to eject banner paper. The user is expected to tear off the banner paper if needed from the input tray and then push the Resume button. Upon pushing the Resume button, the printer will attempt to clear the banner paper. | |
| Printer waiting to eject banner paper. | A drop delay will occur if the previous page printed still needs time to dry. The page currently printing will be held on top of the wings in the pinch rollers. After a timeout, the page will finally be dropped. Pushing the Resume button in this state will cause the printer to drop the page immediately. |
