Basic troubleshooting |

| Is Power On successful? When the product is connected to a grounded power source, the printer motor should rotate for approximately six seconds and the document scanner motor should rotate for approximately two seconds. |

operational? Place the reports into the document scanner input bin and copy them to the printer. Reports should feed smoothly through the document scanner path and copies should print without print quality problems. |

| Does the product send a
fax? Connect the phone line and verify the dial tone (using a hand set, if necessary). Attempt to send a fax. |

listen for the dial tone to check the line. |

Does the product print from the computer? Connect the parallel cable to the product and the computer. Use a word processing application to send a print job to the printer. |
