LaserJet II

The LaserJet II was introduced in March 1987, and discontinued in Jan 1991. The HP 33440A LaserJet series II printer provides 300 dots per inch resolution with a throughput of up to 8 pages per minute.  Printer features include PCL Printer Language Level 4.  Interfaces are RS-232-C/RS-422-A and Centronics parallel.  Total memory is 512 K, user Memory is 395 K.  Fonts per page is 16 maximum. Downloadable soft fonts - 32 maximum. The memory boards for the LaserJet series II have been discontinued and are no longer available through Hewlett-Packard. The part numbers for the discontinued memory cards are 33443B for 1 MB, 33444B for 2 MB, and 33445B for 4 MB. Memory boards do not increase the printers 1 KB (1,024 byte) serial I/O buffer or increase the speed of the HP LaserJet printer.  Optional memory requirements: Full-page (letter-sized) 150 dpi graphics - None, Half-page (letter-sized) 300 dpi graphics - None, Full-page (letter-sized) 300 dpi graphics - 1 MB, Full-page (legal-sized) 300 dpi graphics - 1 MB.  The optional memory required for the HP LaserJet printers is directly influenced by the complexity of the graphics and soft fonts being used. Text resolution with standard memory is 300 x 300 dots per inch (dpi). Graphics resolution with standard memory is 75 dpi full-page, 100 dpi full-page, 150 dpi full-page, 300 dpi half-page. First Page (after receipt of data)is less than 16 seconds. Warm-up time (depends on amount of memory) is less than 30 seconds. Duty Cycle is up to 12,000 pages. There is one standard input tray with a capacity (Regular Paper) of 200 sheets. There is one standard Output tray with a capacity face-down (correct order) of 100 sheets and a capacity face-up (inverse order) of 20 sheets. Maximum paper size is 8.5 inches x 14 inches and the minimum Paper Size is 3-7/8 inches x 7.5 inches. Physical specifications are Width - 18.0 inches, Depth (body only) - 19.0 inches, Depth (w/letter tray) - 32.1 inches, Depth (w/legal paper tray) - 34.5 inches, Height - 9.13 inches, Weight (including EP-S cartridge) - 51.0 lbs. 
The HP LaserJet II Toner Imaging System uses the 92295A Toner Cartridge. The Toner Cartridge consists of an all-in-one consumable cartridge that prints up to 4,000 pages.

LaserJet IID

The LaserJet IID was first introduced in Nov 1988 and discontinued in June 1991. The HP LaserJet IID printer (HP part number 33447A) provides 300 dots per resolution with a throughput of up to eight pages per minute. The major additions are dual paper bins, the ability to duplex (print on both sides), and an optional envelope feeder. Printer features are PCL Printer Language Level 4. Interfaces include RS-232-C/RS-422-A and Centronics parallel. Total Memory is 640 K, user memory is 395 K
Fonts Per Page are limited only by memory. Downloadable Soft Fonts are limited only by memory. Memory boards for the HP LaserJet IID printers have been discontinued. The part numbers for the discontinued memory cards are 33443B for 1 MB, 33444B for 2 MB, and 33445B for 4 MB. An individual may install a combination of up to 2 boards totaling 4 Mb of optional memory: HP33474B 1 Mb Memory Board (discontinued) and the HP33475B 2 Mb Memory Board (discontinued). Memory boards do not increase the printer's 3 x 5 Kb (15360 byte) parallel I/O buffer size or increase the speed of the HP LaserJet printer. Optional memory requirements for full-page (letter-size) 150 dpi graphics - None, half-page (letter-size) 300 dpi graphics - None, full-page (letter-size) 300 dpi graphics - 1 MB, full-page (legal-size) 300 dpi graphics - 1 MB.
